Jonsered not available much here but many many USA buyers swear by them.

Either way you'll be happy, buy what you can get parts for easily.

Both appear to have 3.2kw power but the Jonsered may be slightly heavier.

i use a 357xp for most of my climbing with 3/8 full chisel chain, its been a excellent saw for hardwood and softwood. We ran Jonsered saws about 20 years ago, then we went to the Parter chainsaw, then some stihls and now we run all Huskys. All new saws run good its the backup service that really counts i think.

+1 "all new saws run good"
Whatever saw you get, learn how to service it properly and get some exploded diagrams/workbooks so you can fix her yourself.

Yah to that.

I went to the strategy of running two sizes of saws. One size I call 'bigger than small, but smaller than big, the other size is 'just plain big'. For each of these two sizes, there are two identical saws, twins. The fearsome foursome.
Each saw has a backup, parts ordering is streamlined, bar interchangability, ez maintenence, you're pretty assured you will always have a saw up when it counts. Get an account set up with a dealer so if you need parts, you can speed dial him and they'll ship your parts zoom and put a bill in the box.
It's almost like a dream come true, how easy this can be (for you) to keep your saws up and running well for years.

As far as the Jonsered, is it a Husky of a different color (and price)? If you look at the metal ID tag on the saw's body, near the bar oil cap, read from it where it was made, and I don't mean in Sweden,
but where in Sweden.
Read a Husky tag. Read a Jonsered tag. Make your own conclusions.

Default Mr. Funny Guy

Here you go...... Tell your dealer you have this mad desire to have a two-color saw, Red and Orange. Ask
"Are there any parts on the 357 and the 2156 that are interchangable?"

Maybe we can get one of the PDF gods here to post us the exploded parts diagrams for each of the saws. That would be a pretty good way to compare the two saws for genetical twinness.

I agree TM. We keep our saws as "pairs".
