Hang on a sec.

This is like the Matrix ... I swear I've seen this before.

Oh, that's right, you posted about this thing before, now you've had a gut full of it I bet.

So, tell us the story, what is this thing like and all about? I never heard of it till you Kiwi's starting getting all exicted about how your knots jam etc.

Tim, il leave the facts to you mate...

My first thoughts were skeptical but after a day or two you can get to see the benefits. The hitch climber is about versatility, a simple pulley making your life up the tree that little bit easier. It wont do the work for you but if you use it and your brain it does help.

Ekka i think you're nuclear powered. You need a dose of radiation from your screen twice a day!
Jimmy mate How do i explain this thing, actually it's a piece of a jig saw! the other bits include :-
flash bina's that are sill under construction? but a Petzl ok triact oval will suffice in the mean time.
Ope2e slings, If you can stop your, arboureal acrobatics, for half an hour and do some engineering examinations and accounting arithmotic you will work out that the exspensive out lay is offset by thier durablity, longevity, not to mention NO KNOTS!!!
The other key pieces are Experience , compertance, initiative, ingenuity, common scence ( the way i spell you probably need a dictionary by now?)
A few like minded mates in an insperational frame of mind, preferably not to enebriated, and some time to play with the system.
Finally a hammer! This is essential for most arborists that get stuck in there comfort zone and need to smash out of it and realise the evolution that is happening in this industry!
Almost all of the 20 plus attendees of Beddes work shop purchased a hitchclimber pulley, Its been a while for the feed back to come in, most have only the first piece of the jig saw and they like it, even though they had to get that hammer out of the bottom of the kit bag.
The othe comment revolves around $$$$$$!
Its the bit of kit you hang your life on! For a dollar a day you can have an ergonomic system that is in my opinion so much more safer than ropes that melt with dodgy knotes!
It's midnight, brians turned into a pumpkin! good night

Haha nice 1 Tim.

Yea i dont know why everyone moans about the price of climbing equiptment all the time! Bo hu com on you guys, you probably have trucks and chippers worth 10s of thousands of dollars which will be waiting on you to get the job done but you dont wont fork a few bucks for decent prussic set up!

I thrashed the hitch climber today just because i wanted to get a few things to say about it. As Tim says it is best to have the whole set up, not just the pulley. I was using 2x petzl triact oval binas with rubber keepers, the new Ocean polyester prussic 10mm with spliced ends and the hitch climber pulley. The prussic is excellent, extreemly well wearing with extreem heat resistance so it lasts a long time. VT hitch.

Its not the pulleys standard function of trailing the rope/pushing the prussic up, its the versitility of it thats so great. Setting traverses without sideloading binas and having to use extra binas/attachment points for it. Setting advantage systems soo easily. Even pulling slack through the pulley to get the groundie to pull chansaws up for you. You can get big groundies to pull you up the tree if you want!!

If you check out the link to Tree Pro, Tims website it shows you everything in the diagrams.

Il try and get video but NO PROMICES, i still owe a video of the rope guide retreval device haha

I might be interested in incorporating this into my once every 8-12month climbing system.

What the hell is it?

I got mine last week and only one word for it "AWESOME"

I'm using 8mm beeline and ISC micro mouse biners, but I think i'll use just one micro/mighty ? mouse biner for attaching the pulley and legs of hitch cord to, and an oval petzl for climbing line to pulley.

I been playing around more and more with the set up.

Really like using two carabiners. Its so simple, it makes retraceable redirects easy as you have extra room on the bina for a stopper knot over the prussic. Also makes traverses easy as you dont need to find another bina.

As the pulley has 3 holes there are many set up options plus the extra hole acts as another attachment point eg for a double rope point. Honestly just use your imagination!

Yea Tim il have to skype you from Thilos place, nasty weather bro.

Hamuran, i'm from the U.k,
I'll sing the praises of the HC all day, but i do realsie its not to everyones tastes or climbing style.

Its is versatile though, if you can fit a petzl swivel to your bridge attach to that so the tail rotates to any postion you want.

How much are they retailing for in Aus? In the U.k they are about twice the price of a decent micro pulley, about ?25.
Compare that to a 45m spliced rope at around ?140 I think its good value.

I like the concept but it's six times the cost of a decent micro pulley here in the US. $110/$18

The Hitchclimber might be pricey but it does everything they claim. It self tails real nice and keeps everything in line..............works well with the 'motion saddle!
