There's lots of HoooHaaaa over this saddle. Can you give us a run down on the cost plus what the advantages might be. I like a hard seat, I use Buckingham Traverse (sliding D's), I haven't found more comfortable than that. I really dont want to replace it.

What a nice azz saddle it is gents!! Worth every cent I would have to say. Got done doing a 80ft Pin Oak removal and I felt great in it the whole time. If anyone is still on the fence about it I would say go for it. I think what is real nice about it is when it came I was able to add places on the belt to hook things into. They dont put it on so you have everything right where you want. Very cool indeed this is It was a final cost of $533.00 US. Some other good points on it would be, everything is adjustable legs, waist, where it comes to on your back. It has quick release points points on the waist and legs. The bridge is conected into the legs for free motion of your legs. Also has D-rings on legs if you like the traditional tie in points. Matching D-rings for your lanyard also. Ring on the center back for your saw to be stowed. Also you can add clips for extra gear to I think 6 diffrent places on the belt including the legs if that is something you like. Over all construction is very durable and easy to clean. Im sure in the future you will see diffrent adjustments in manufacturing but not much that I can see. Oh ya I didnt have on pinch point the whole time!!

Anybody got a Tree Motion II yet? I'm just joking but I think I will give it some time. I'm still happy with my Butterfly I. |

That is funny, but the Treemotion does look like a great harness - http://www.treeworker.co.uk/acatalog...g_Harness.html Click on the 'more details' icon for a better view of the Treemotion. The TreeFlex, which is new, also looks like a very well designed harness - http://www.safetytechnology.co.uk/arborist-treeflex.php Both these harnesses were designed by working arborists who are climbing on a daily basis. I hope to try them both in the near future, I'll be sure to tell you what I think of them. |

Its new but im sure everyone has seen it. Thought i might share my opinion on the harness. Made in Germany and developed buy a bunch of the top climbers there including the world climbing champion Bernd Strasser himself. I had a climb in it the other week, its was VERY comfortable. The support both waist and individual leg straps are excellent. The accessory clips come with the harness and are especially made, notice the amount of accessory loops also no messing around there. The most surprising thing about the harness is the adjustability which is amazing. Not only adjustability through the straps on waist and legs but the actual position the climber sits is changeable. The climber can position ones self to sit leaning forward or back with the full range in between. The sliding 'D' set up is unusual but great. There are various options and ways to set your system up on the sliding D. With massive amounts of movement in a twisted position it makes branch walking and stretching out to the branch tips easy. It is a harness that needs to be tried to understand how it all works. I think its a great revolution to the working positioning harness for arborists, and i dont even get paid to say this! Haha cheers James |

I am not Pro at tree climbing or claim too know much about climbing gear but that saddle looks like too "gadgety" for me. I know it was designed by great champion climbers with a heck of a lot of experience but it looks to me like it has too many little belts and whistles that a regular joe climber will probably not use much. ![]() Just me being another ignorant opinionated e-poster I guess! ![]() Let the fire storm begin now ![]() Ekka, I like that one: "you'd need lots of places to hang say drills, spanners, beers and smokes! May depend on the work you do. See I do mainly TD's but if you did a lot of pruning or cabling then you'd need lots of places to hang say drills, spanners, beers and smokes!

The link Ekka posted did not work. I was just wondering where can you get these harnesses from in Australia? Also would it be cheaper to import from the US, if so where in the US? |

Apparently you can get them through Vermeer. When we were there the other day to get teeth for the stumpy we picked up their catalogue and they had a whole page for it.

Anyone seen the new Buckingham Ergovation? Looks like it running off the same ergonomic theories as the Tree Motion or Tree Flex. Man they look like nice harnesses but they are pricey. I know (you climb in it every day) but at 500 American, by the time I get it to my house I'm probably looking at close to 750 Canadian. Anyone have any feedback on the Weaver Cougar?
