I will get a pair and do a log test on them, the China market and dynamics are so diffrent to what we know as "normal" This extract from an earthmoving equipment supplier is a real eye opener IMO looking at sourcing product from China I hear you ask? The forecast is that their construction equipment market is going to sell 900,000 machines in 2010, growing to 1,400,000 machines in 2012. To put this into perspective, China will buy 83,000 excavators this year, which is virtually equal to the entire North American sales of all earth moving machines combined. With such a strong domestic market ready to soak up any available production capacity at the standard they currently manufacture to, for many factories, changing production and accommodating a higher quality standard to meet export requirements is not a high priority. Much of the product that is available is “take it as is, or leave it”.

i always remember one of my instructors telling the story of the pair of chainsaw trousers that were used as a demonstration of what occurs when you cut into them, apparently there was blood on them where two guys had had tried out the "no cut" trousers with a full revving 660 it went straight through into the guys leg DOH! you just couldn't make that stupidity up

Being safety equipment in a professional environment, wouldn't they need to be to Australian Standards or something?

There is AS/NZS 4453.3:1997 but you have to buy it. However there was an amendment which is free, it says:- Quote:
