Default chipper no blower

i am looking at a old asplund 9 inch chipper it does not have the blower that hooks to the chute does anyone know if it chips o.k. or clogs because most of the ones i have seen as had the blower, also the blades have not been changed in 10 years is it possible to change them i did have a friend tell me that he had to use a chipper for parts only because he could not get the blades out. thank you
