Default chipper

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a second hand chipper. We are a lawn renovation/Maintenance and gardening company. We feel that we could use a chipper in our business. As a rule, we don't buy second hand equipment, but in this case, we would prefer to buy a second hand "professional" unit as opposed to a (too)small chipper-as usually advertised in gardening magazines-capable of only chipping(mulching) branches to 100mm etc. Most of our "chipping" would be of green material, pruned or (as is becoming more frequent) storm damage material. Any help with brand name, size of chipper i.e 6-10"(?) would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou in advance, Simon SLC

I can sell you a vermeer BC1000 Xl Dec 04 85 hp Cummins engine with 3000hrs in good condition for $26,000 inc GST.

It will do your job perfectly and weighs 2 ton for easy towing.

Yea the BC1000XL does the job good. It just doesn't like things like Melaleuca styphelioides, chips its alright but because the roller relies on its weight to push down it has a hard time with the dense canopy of these trees. Everything else it takes with ease. Other options you have are Bandits/Chipstar/Austchip/Rayco/Morbark/more and more, depends on how big your branches are, you could probably get away with a 6" chipper that weighs under 1t.

Thankyou for your replys. I think a towable chipper around 1 ton would be more suitable so if that is a 6" chipper then so be it ! Thanks again

The BC600XL is good, especially at what is it, 700ish kg? If you are looking for something more heavy duty the AustChip 150's are good, 45HP diesel but weigh in around 1.3t.
