Default Buckingham Aussie Traverse

For awhile now I was looking through harnesses that had the Dual side D rings, about a month ago I finally took a close look at the Aussie Traverse and realised it had what I was looking for.

The old harness I am leaving behind is the Petzl Navaho Full Boss. Myself personally would not recommend this harness to anybody as it is not comfortable enough in the tree and for the price there are comfier harnesses out there. Does anyone else use the Navaho? If so post what you think of it.

Well this week I'm going to purchase the Aussie Traverse, Medium.
I know Ekka uses the harness, anyone else used it? I'd like to hear some pros and cons eg:
Should I go soft seat or hard?

Definately hard seat unless you sit on top of branches a lot.

Also between the 2 side D's you can put a custom made hook like I got and just one hand drop ya saw in.

I'm partial to the Master Classic or Versatile.
I have a V2 Bod and don't care for the single attachment point and I don't care to add more hardware to make it work but it's ok for srt.

I've had a Buckinham Traverse for years (pre-Aussie spec) and find it real comfy. Tried a Sherrill(Buckinham) Glide with seperate leg loops but felt like i were hanging by my nutsack when suspended midair in it. Went back to the traverse and appreciated even more. Go the hard seat. Probly time for a new one myself.

The hard seat is held in by velcro pocket so if you dont like it just remove the aluminium batton.

The tree motion does indeed look very nice and comfy Fairfield, but I have my heart set on my Aussie Traverse.

With the floating D's, when a load is put on them I've noticed they draw togethor - is there anyway of stopping this and maybe have a bit of room inbetween them?

I clip through both D's with one biner.

I only use the 2 D's seperately when having 2 tips.

Most often i do the same as ekka. A handy trick though for getting right out on the end for pruning though is to clip your hitch to 1 and your rope to the other then when you turn away from your T.I.P. you spread the 2 and go through the middle of each line. If that makes sense......

Comfier than having the line turn hard pulling back aginst you.

Ahh yes that does make sense, this harness is going to be sweet! I'm probably going to order it tomorrow if not the next day through Atreas, is it worth me calling them in person to see if I can get any deals?

Is there even a point in having to floating D's anyway. I had in the past and with one floating D you get the same effect as two. Plus I hate when you are hanging in mid air ure legs feel as though they are trying to pop you nutz open

I'm running three D's (deltas) up front right now. Main tie-in in the middle and one to either side. Steel in the middle, aluminium outers, all sliding.

I'm one with the bosun seat, also. I sit on my azz a lot up in the tree, hang out. I am a sucker for comfort. Anything getting squeezed is not OK.

Well after it finally arriving it turned out it was very well worth it. The harness has great comfort, back support and ergonomics.

I particularily like the dual D rings they are very versatile and handy for any rope application.

whats the deal with using a separate piece of line to tie your hitch. is there and advantage to it as opposed to using same line and breaking it up with a tied fig 8?
just curious

The idea is so you don't have to untie your friction hitch or cut the end of your climbline off[btw i've never cut the tail off of a climbline yet].
