Check at a feed store or tack supply. They're popular with alot of horse folk.

I own 2 bigshots, the oldest one I retired a few years ago when the newer "new and improved Bigshot" came out. The newest one has a more compact smaller computer designed frame allowing better accuracy. It also has a flat wider pouch which keeps the shotbag laying flat upon launch which further reduces in-air projectile rotation.
Just last week I broke the sling tubing and my spare sling was for the old style Bigshot. So I had to use the old model while waiting for the new sling on order. Man was that old Bigshot a step backwards.

Not cheesy at all. I have a cheap one, a bit bigger than that one, which, if it's a Wichard, is way overpriced.

I used to have a similar $4 device procured from a hardware store, but lost it.

A pulley can be used to make it easier to stretch the rubber.

Actually, when that new design first came out, the pouch, being so open, was nearly impossible to use without the weight falling out. Now Tobe says they're made a slight mod so that it grips the weight. He's sending freebies to those who asked, at da Buz z.....

Should be able to get those from most Arb stores. I know a lot of people who use those while climbing. I got mine from ATRAES for like $15.

The new big shot design has been getting alot of slack up here , i find if you dont shoot with enough angle the sack fires through the inside of the rubber sling and you end up spending 5mins feeding it back out
Which is a bit of a bastard when ya have to shoot nearly verticle .

otherthan that its ok , but i never had that problem with the old one........

Throwing in is better any way hahaha

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but the trigger device pictured in this thread for the Big Shot is called a "snap shackle". If you go to Amazon.com and search for "snap shackle" in the Sports & Outdoors department, you should see listings for all different sizes of this hardware.

Just to put my 2 cents out there.
Purchased a bigshot 2 years ago, but baulked at the price of the fibreglass pole extension ( about $120 as I remember it) Went to a pool supply shop and bought an aluminium extension pole (pool cleaner/ skimmer pole) for $40. Bonus was I got a handsaw attachment for the pole.
Works very well, very strong, although haven't stepped on it yet.
Consensus is that it would be hard to work without it around.
