Default BC 1500 vs BC 1400

hey hey, so we have this new chipper BC1500 vermeer has done 54 hours and from day one has been a pain in the arse. does any one else have this particular chipper? seems to jam up at any thing we have checked the springs/drums/slides everything about forty times kept the drums clear from debris and tried different settings and sensitivity i used to have the BC 1400 and never had any problems like this. any suggestions? thanks

That's weird, the BC1500 I have used chipped shute blocking palms with ease, never blocked, better than a BC1800!

That machine perhaps has not been Aussie-ised .... more blower fins required within.

yeah can chip palms easy as which has made life so much easier ,no shute blocking just the drums keep jamming even when you hold the green button in. blower fins aye? whats this?

feeder drums not cutter drums that is.

There's bits of steel welded to the drum that generate "wind" to "blow" the chip, more fins = more wind = less blockages.

But you are saying the feed rollers aren't doing their job. Just sit there and spin eh, no grunt or grab.

I'd say with that amount of hours talk to Vermeer and have adjustment made with pressure etc. I think they seems to work OK, but you may have a dud.
