Default xtc 16 strand

what rope would you recommend for lowering useing natural crotch's,has to be 5/8 and not xtc 16 strand because my supplier says theres none in the country.currently i have double esterlon for lowering with blocks and pulleys

A three strand would be the toughest for wear.... easy to splice too! Maybe splice an eye and have a decent biner or shackle for some moderate lowering etc.

Hunting around appear 16mm-18mm 3 strand breaking is around 3500kg to 5000kg depending on manufacturer.

I just brought a 1/2" xtc lowering line as light work rope,wanted 5/8 but none in stock in red...already have a green 5/8 lowering and didnt want them mixed up..

I got some cheap 3 strand for natural crotch work, not rubbing my double braid out.

Hunt around, there's lots of places sell it, not as strong as double braid or as nice to tie knots so use slings or biners.

Agreed ekka my other light line is 1/2" 3 strand new england and still going strong after 4-5 years!

Forestry Suppliers, Inc. 800-647-5368. These guys sell bulk 3 strand nylon for a decent price.

Similar profile here. 3 strand as a crappier natural crotch or guideline. Double braid for blocks n lowering device.
3 strand can twist even with lowering device, though not as bad as through a figure 8.
