Can't really see the whole hitch there. Looks like a VT with a whole lot of twists.

Blakes is the old standby. Simple to go over limbs and drop down through crotches. Throw the blakes hitch on with cmi or pantin on foot and go. Keep the legs doing the most lifting. The VT and Mohican hitch work well in more open spaces. |

tautline hitch for bodythrusting, but because i seem to be doing more and more footlocking and because my boss has me use a prusik loop[just an annoyance to me]i use a klemheist hitch for that.

Distel and vt depending on climb line. Double fishermans to make all biner connections, they are a little bulky but they hold and are the easiest to untie.

Hi all, VT -Beeline w/ 4 wraps & 3 braids w/ micropulley on YellowJacket. Friction saver on easily isolated hardwoods, AFC w/ 1/2" stable braid w/ 4" pulley hardlocked to a Figure 8 on Conifers and thick Hardwoods for canopy access. |

i was shown the taut line (2 under-2 over) when i started, then learned the blakes, now no matter what the normal blakes hitch always slipped a bit on me (4 up ,then up through the back of the first two) so i came up with what i call a "over under-blakes" (4 up then one loop under/up through the "normal" two) really like this config.am happy with it even a 5/3 blakes i find slips a bit,i do it right believe me ...it doesnt just take off just slips a inch or two ,but i dont like that at all |

Tk knut, I used to be a VT guy but since I tried the tk it's been bye bye vt. I guess that could change if I ever stop using velocity and an ultra tech prussic cord, but the combination is great. Super control and reliabilty, no creeping , no lock ups. |
