I did that too, a while back. Oil cap came off my saw when slung on my harness. Drizzled down my leg and rope. Made it an interesting descent. wakes you up a bit.....
I clean mine in the machine in a pillow case. Just don't let the Trouble and Strife know......

After working on Pines in centenial pk I had to hang up my green 30m climbing line as it cured out like cement.

Last weekend at mount wilson climbing 45m Cypresses that had moss all over them in the rain my new orange climbing line turned black.

1 hour delicate wash in my mums front loader, both of them like brand spanking new again

Nothing quite like climbing on a fluffy rope.

I use a mesh bag. Take it to the local landromat and abuse their machines. Ya get a lot of strange looks when you plunk that sack in the machines.

yeah but in my area I climb a lot of pine, black cherry and choke cherry and since I haven't bought a friction saver yet I get a lot of sap in my ropes.

Just got done washing several loads of ropes in the washing machine. Thank jebus that the people who's place I'm ranch sitting for have alot of ceiling fans in their living room. I've got ropes strung all about in various stages of drying. Also washed some gloves and anchor straps and whatnot. It all came out pretty nicely. I love fluffy rope.

Ended up doin some of them for several cycles through on "gentle"... couldn't beleive the amount of crud in them. Dang pines have so much sap in them!
