Default tech cord eye and eye?

I bought a 32" tech core eye and eye made by all gear, it is technora and vectran with no jacket. Supposed to have a 900 degree F melting point.

I have used it 3 times and it looks pretty ratty anybody else use it? is it supposed to look like that after use? i know the urethane coating will come off, but man, it looks like crap...

works fine though

Hey mate, the problem is we are using this cordage as a rope on rope prussic which is not exactly designed for... I have found Vectran, Dyneema, Spectra, all have relatively LOW abrasion resistance. Technora has good abrasion resistance. The problem here is not so much to do with the material but more so the the rope is constructed. Loose 12 plat will never stand upto much abuse.

Just keep an eye on how much its wearing, that cordage is extremely strong but use your initiative when it comes to wear. Or just post a picture and we will let ya know what we all think.

Cheers

12 strand Cord with no jacket like icetail will look crappy real quick but still be fine to use so long as there is no actual damage. Cord with a jacket holds up much better, but if you pull apart a used one and remove the jacket you'll be amazed how bad the inner 12 strand core looks.
