here in hawaii i trim at least 200 palms a month. something that will change you life with pruning palms is to go out and buy an adjustable friction saver. you dont wanna climb cuban royals with spikes. its a bad idea. instead use your throw line with a 16-20 ounce heavy bag and launch it up and over the crown with a big shot then pull your climbing line through the crown and SRT up. i would suggest using a 2 piece climbin platform for hunting like we use on coco palms but royals are too big for the stands. http://www.youtube.com/user/climberd...43/hRVcf47IDGE

Check this out! Not good for Royal palms, but not a bad idea for coconut palms. <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/8Zq7O_nAR5s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I use and adjustable false crotch with an omni block for Ddrt, and use the trunk walk to ascend. I charge $125.00-$195.00 to clean a royal palm in someones back yard where there is no access with a lift. |

Not sure of the exact terminology but is it a self trailing prussic with an attachment for the prussic minding pulley to the other side of the rope? so you don't need to manually take up the slack? Thanks. | |

Cool, i think i saw somewhere on here when i was going back through old threads that a couple of people had made a small prussic loop out of cord for this purpose. Is that the best option? Does the prussic join directly to the pulley? |

when im using a DRT off a SRT pully like the first vid i like to use a pantin and put one foot on the stem and the other on the rope. kick off with your foot on the stem and advance slack with pantin.
