Default Stem cinch - set from the ground

Stem cinch - set from the ground: Sometimes useful for setting a line up high on a limbless stem like a poplar or palm. The pull-up line doesn't even have to be in the same tree.

WOW im definitely going to try this next week on some cuban royal palms im pruning. the thing about cuban royals and its cousins are that the fronds have super tight V crotches and after setting your throw line its sometimes a time consuming process to pull your climbing line through the crown. it allways gets stuck on the verry tip of your climbing line when its about to pass through the V crotch. this will really save time when i get faster at it.

thanks for sharing!

Take care, my friend!!! It is no small thing to remotely set a stem cinch for a life line. Flip the line high to tighten the cinch as much as possible and 'bounce test' the line rigorously. It's good idea to use a binocular (I use monocular) to verify the security of the cinch. The concept works great for a pull or hold line. But, we do not have palm here. So, I have no experience how well a cinched life line 'grabs' on a palm stem. Be very cautious!!!
