hi there I have found someone to teach me tree climbing (for the purpose of studying the rainforest canopy) now i just need 'the gear' Im can't really afford to get it all brand new, as my budget wouldn't fit that, so was wondering were the best place would be to get second hand tree climbing gear in australia ? cheers |

Hi Caldera, Second hand gear....mmmm....There's no track record, you dont know how it's been used. ![]() Heres a quick question for you or any one that know the answer how far do you have to fall in a harness before it's a throw away??you might be surprized to know the answer. ![]() If and only if you know the complete history would I consider buying a used harness remember it keeps you alive and well in the tree. Some thing to consider too is all the climbing gear has a shelf life which starts at the time of manufacture not the time you purchase it. ![]() ![]()

is it 1m? the shock load of a 90kg climber would be considerable.

If memory serves me correct it was 500mm when you think of that it's two parts of bugger all to stuff your Harness. ![]() ![]() ![]()
