Has anyone used the Yale bull rigger12, 3/4" solid braid? Most of my rigging is natural crotch, and weight is under 500pounds. I've been using the three strand tree-master 1/2", but it's low tensile strength limits me to 700lbs, (and after a few cycles, that is deminished). What are you guys using? |

I use friction savers on crotches when seriously loading my rigging ropes. I use 5/8 tree master (13,000 lb) tensile. I drop 2000-3000 frequently, never have a problem. IMO any kind of double braid has a high WLL and will suffice your needs easily, especially if you're usually using 1/2 tree master now. I would make my decision based on the "feel" of the new rope . Sounds like a plan to me, I'd say ,go for it |

I use half inch and 3/4 and 5/8 double braids with pulleys/blocks and friction devices. I also often use downgraded 16 strand climbing line on natural crotches. Sometimes I use the 1/4 inch micro line that I carry 100 feet in a small pouch on my saddle with a small pulley. I also have 180 feet of it on a reel and it is fun to use with a mini porty and that small pulley. Over 7k static strength. Amazing what i can take off with it. I tried it on safe areas and now have no worries about it. |

I may go with the tree master after looking at the 5/8 & 3/4 tensile, and the fact I can splice three strand. WesSpur has some good prices too. I thought about using retired climbing line also,(blue streak and BRW) for some light stuff. I have 180 feet of black widow, but found it hard to manage the 1/4 size without it knotting up on me. So I cut it into smaller 50 foot hanks. Just don't know what to do with it. |
