Default Rigging idea

Anyone used/made a prussic adjusting strop/sing for rigging? Adjustable like a whoopy sling, but uses a prussic or similar as the adjuster

Might be able to set it up to absorb some shock.

I had one a few years ago, but never used it on anything big.

It would only absorb such a minimal amount of shock that it would not be worth worrying about. The prussik would be no where as strong as the sling.
Better off using more rope in the system or a rope with better elongation properties to absorb force and have groundies than let the load run.

They do use prussiks in this way in rescue rigging to reduce shock loading anchors though. A good idea which may work on small stuff but not on large stuff when it is more critical. You could install the same system on the load rather than the anchor. However the length of the prussik would limit its use to lowering branches and not the head or trunk sections.

The way you have it set up in the picture is for a basket hitch, it would not work real well in a choker as the prussik on the sling will be jammed against the trunk and not be able to slide. yeah?

The link i posted is not mine, i just came across it. For a high rigging point i think its a good system that can be removed without going back up to get it.
good for working in a tree that is to be retained.
