My colleaque now verry like me from this, maybe new, reparation technique, becouse economize money and they can me in pub order good czech beers ![]() Good luck, martin! |

3mm? That's huge diameter for throwline. 2.2 mm is as big as I find practical. 1.75 mm much, much better. I think the splicing method is brilliant, though. |

Or do you pull using gloves, if so, what kind? The answer to shotline nirvana comes from those questions, not so much long time habit. Thanks for showing the splice. I'd seen where 'dynamic' shotline had been spliced to a section of 'static' shotline, but I never really checked out how to do the splice. | |

Hey mate, you like that stuff? I used it for a while, but i splice about 15m of it to dynema throwline so you have a good throwing end and have a strong end for installing climbing lines with out any chance of it breaking. After a while i gave up on that yellow rubbish and went to this stuff; Its similar but lighter, runs real well and excellent to throw with. With you splices, before cutting your tapers, ya need to pull the two lines together so there is no gap between the lines like you have got. If ya need pics let us know.

just found this old thread. Martin, Flylight is rated at 225 lb.....I had some, it had nice hand, but, yes, it breaks way to easily. Zing It and Fling It are the best I've used. well over 400 lb tensile @ 1.75mm. Last a long time, and won't break. good job splicing it though! |
