hello, first i want to say sorry for my grammar, because English is not my first or favorite language. and now the question: Last summer my friends and i discovered recreational tree climbing. and we decided to spend weekend without getting on ground, and i would like to know, how to secure yourself when sleeping in tree and using only basic equipment (sleeping bag, simple hammock, ropes, harness etc..). The way of simply tieing yourself to a rope that is higher than you and geting in a bag is not the most comfortable solution. so i was thinking is there any other way to do this? |

You could try using a light full body harness with a rated chest attachment and stay secured via the chest attachment. May be its more comfortable? May be use dynamic rock climbing rope so if you fall it wont be quite as bad as tree climbing rope. I have slept in a hammock a couple of times in the tree but wouldnt take my rope and harness off, its not so comfortable but you can sleep easy knowing your safe ![]() If you have a Port-o-ledge then its a bit safer as it has a sturdy flat base to lie on. Its also possible to secure it safely as its built for sleeping on rock faces. I have slept in one of these a couple of times with no rope or harness. Thanks for the post! Here are a few pics, they are not great but ah well. Cheers |

Just not recommended if you're a sleepwalker!
