Default Pre-Climb Stretches

Anyone got any recommendations for pre-climb stretches? I pull up a bit sore after climbing because I don't do it enough and I still have 1 climbing module left at TAFE.

Just think about the muscles you are about to use, and they are the ones you should loosen up before you climb. Then you do the same movement without load or slight load to warm them up.

When I was doing my climbing at Tafe I used our weight bench at home to build up muscles you use to climb with. I used to have one or two 20 kilo weights attached overhead via a pulley with rope to exercise my upper body, the upper arm muscles used in hip thrusting. This helped me greatly.

I have not checked but there seems to footage on everything on youtube maybe a look there could set you straight.

your sore because your muscles need feeding use a protien drink before and after to relive the lactic acid and give the muscles what they need, i used to suffer but ever since useing good quality protien mixes i do big days easily and have plenty of energy the next day

Problem with protein is if your body does not break it down properly it can crystalize in your joints as gout.

getting off topic, gout from protien is a miss conception. Was recently "discovered" to be a red herring. Too much alcohol (sad) can be a cause esp. beer etc

Gout comes from uric acid crystals in the bloodstream accumulating in joints, often the big toe. Causes are mainly diet, alcohol (esp beer due to yeast), soft drinks, seafood (prawns). So a beer and prawns night not so good.

You can be blood tested for uric acid and eliminate speculation if you have sore joints.

I would say in this day and age 90% of gout would be caused by alcohol and poor diet. Often heavy drinkers have a poor diet.

A Dr actually explained that to me however it was a while ago...thank god ! I have not had gout for ages.

Heres a treatment for any one who gets gout, this was passed on by a friend of my wife after overhearing her talk about me suffering from gout.

Theres a supplement thats made from cucumber seeds, well I used this and have not had gout since...touch wood.

Back on topic...
