Im looking at getting some throw line and a throw bag to start off the new year with. I discovered my max throwing height for rope and it was about 1cm to short for the lowest branch on the last tree I climbed. My question is how much throw line do I need? My rope is only 35m and I rarely climb above 15-17m. Also what weight throw bags do I get? I think we are going to do a bit of throw line work when TAFE starts up again and I wouldnt mind being able to practice everywhere. So basic questions, how much throw line and which weight throw bags?

Hey mate, Zing-it is the best throwline and comes standard in 180'(55m) lengths. It is worth having the extra length on hand to be able to tie your line on mid-throwline if you want it to run a certain direction over the crotch. Two thicknesses, 1.75mm & 2.2mm, either is pretty good. It is worth every extra cent to get a Harrison Rocket Throwbag over any other bag, trust me on that. That will give you an awesome throwkit, short of a folding cube to store it in. If you want i will give you a good deal on the whole kit & cube-oodle, seeing as you're a regular posting Treeworld Member .Zing it: $49.95 Harry Rocket: $33:95 Cube: $69.95 =$153.85 Treeworld Apocolypsse Special Throw Kit Deal = $139 shipped FREE! You can go cheaper, with Slickline (thicker, heavier) and a standard bag but it really is not worth the small saving. Quality = accuracy & longevity with throwing kits. |

Read all about em here: Legendary Harrison Rocket Throwball Of course, you could always use a coke bottle filled with stones & some string. |

Sold@! Send me some details on payment etc. Saves me a trip to either Bayswater or that place where Cannings is, god I hate driving on the monash... Coke bottle is too big, at home my improvised throw line to get into my backyard tree was some crappy bunnings nylon rope and a brick that were lying around the garage. |

you guys must get paid too much! 260ml soft drink bottle $3 (+ free drink!) infinitely variable weight 66m 4mm 4 strand orange nylon line $11 Cube it fabric box from Bunnings $30 50m is a useful minimum for a throw line. You can always use it to do things other than set climbing lines. Trev you know what they about strings and stones.. |

Apocalypse : check this out then.. http://tiny.cc/zQjvg One of my guys bought one the other day. As for Zing It rope - ever tried to break it? its too strong.. no need for 250kg breaking strain! how hard is it to retrieve your fixed bag when the string won't detach or break? Well you have to throw another up their so you can climb up and get it (cause u don't wanna leave your new $33 Harrison up there!) hehehe |

AusPost dropped the package off today. I feel like a retard trying to open up that cube and close it again, took me about 10 minute to figure out how to open it, then I closed it... Bye bye another 10 minutes.
