Default Friction Hitch Tip

Here is a tip that I picked up about making your friction hitch:

Before you splice/knot the ends, pull a little (couple of cms) of the core out so that the outer sheath bunches back. Cut off the pulled out inner, and seal. Tie your hitch in your usual manner, and you should find that it grips the same, but slides a little freer. Safety is not compromised, either.
