I was climbing the other day and it really struck me just how comfortable and easy to work with my harness is, so I thought that I'd start a thread just for people to say what their favourite harnesses are and why? I use a Petzl Sequoia and love the number of loops it has, how easy it is to wear and how comfortable it is, even with equipment hanging off it, it doesn't get that heavy feeling. I even forget that I'm wearing it, hop in the car and drive home with it still on! Anyone else? |

I think that you'll find that most competition climbers will say that you can't beat Treemagineer's TreeMotion, and the old-fashioned/less-competition- inclined climbers will vote for the good ole bucket seated Buckingham Traverse. I also own the Petzl Sequioa - but the SRT version - for practicing footlocking, and it is a little different to the regular Sequioa harness. The sucky thing about it is that the distance of the leg loops from the harness is fixed in place, but it is wonderfully light-weight. |

Ive been climbing on a TreeMotion for the last 6ish months, its not too bad but could use a few things, or I just need a diff harness as im doing removals more than pruning. I love the back support on the harness but I would give anything for a proper full body harness option, like on the Sequoia. Ive also found it rides up my thighs at times choking some crucial areas in my upper thighs. I wouldnt mind trying a Sequoia/Navaho with the seat and full body harness.

I really like my new TreeFlex, very well made, well thought out, super light and is the only saddle made with ergonomics as the main feature. It is designed to be worn low on the hips, wear most men wear their jeans I like that the bridge can be adjusted for your own personal centre of gravity; and it is only 3 pounds! great saddle, also has a built in SRT loop so it can be used as either/or |

I really like my Petzl Navaho full body harness (i don't just climb trees), particularly the width and breathability of the webbing around the waist and legs. It makes for comfortable suspended work, and also far more comfortable when I am belaying my school students when they are learning rock climbing...if they do slip, the sudden take up on the slack would normally be quite painful in a lighter rock climbing harness...not so with the wider webbing. |
