burn marks on sling

Default burn marks on sling

I recently purchased a single eye sling double braid that has some sort of glue or wax or maybe was actually burnt. it looks like the glue maybe they use when sealing the end. has anyone seen this and if so should i just send it back for a different one?

A picture would really help. While reading i thought of a few different things it could be but really cant say without some evidence ie a picture
