Default Bias Boating for rope

http://www.biasboating.com.au/rope.html

I buy 12mm silver rope as my "shit rope" for pulling palms over etc. Going to Bunnings etc is a rip off and I used to buy it at Southport Trawler Supplies on the Gold Coast but that's too far away now.

Anyway, did the rounds today and dropped into the Bias Boating mob not far away.

well, they had a good assortment, some cheaper ropes I'm talking not for life support but perhaps light rigging and pull ropes etc.

I but the cheap Silver stuff coz it gets hammered and chainsawed a bit, works out OK for hand pulls and doubled OK for Kanga but not OK for a vehicle pull.

Anyway, if you buy 100m or more of there better ropes the price is pretty good, I think they're around Brisbane and Sydney ... keep them in mind.

Bunnings wants $2.80, for the same rope I got today at $0.83m coz it was a prepacked 50m roll! Even if not it would be only $1.20m

And what's Bunnings motto? Cheapest prices are just the beginning. lol

Bunnings also say theyll beat any price by 10% dont they. Even though i'd rather give my $$ to the boatshop i'd like to see theyre face at bunnings when you show the the competitors price.

I was looking around in Super Cheap Auto a few months back and stumbled across their prepackaged rope... $10 for 50m of double braided rope, it became our new "Guidance" rope and got put to alot of good use.

Good stuff, twice as strong as the crap I got now, be a handy working rope.

Don't know what they're on about with the chafing though, that's something we get isn't it?

I know the chaffing feeling when I wear my spikes. They dig in just on the inside of my calfs. Ball ache when you got them on all day

Have you tried those solid alloy "caddie" pads? They're real nice, best yet.

Listen I work for bunnings a couple of days a week and get a discount and I still buy my rope good and shit elsewhere, if you knew the mark ups on their stuff like screws and bolts and worst of all plumbing parts you'd never shop there again, items that cost them less than 2 dollars they will sell for over 11 . I wonder if Home depot in the US is the same
