Default Beginner Climber

What do I need to begin climbing, harness, spurs, flipline is there anything else? And what harness do you recommend and what spurs. I'm 6 foot 5 so I'm guessing I need long spurs? Would be great if you could point me in the right direction.

You need a lifeline, with a prussic etc.

I'd go Bashlin alloys with long gaffs and alloy caddie pads, 1/2" wire core flip line (12') with Gibbs adjuster and 150' 16 strand 1/2" lifeline something like Samson or New England. For a saddle I have always had the Buckingham Traverse Aussie edition with dual D rings each side and hard seat.

You'll need some carabiners and perhaps a screwlink (twisted one) for the flipline.

Thanks mate, I've seen heaps of post about all different types of gear but this sums it up nicely for me. Much appreciated.

Umm I can't seem to find those Bashlin spurs anywhere. Would you be able to link me by any chance?
