So I'm getting more keen about getting into trees and spending money on gear I won't use too often. Without going SRT what are my options for ascenders on DRT? Can I use something when I have my climbing hitch connected instead of a footlocking line?

A Pantin is a given, if don't already have one. You can also run the Anchor Bridge System to extend the length of your system putting the hitch higher up the rope. In addition to that you can then use a hand ascender under it to make it even easier. This is probably the simplest way of maximizing efficiency while still staying on a doubled rope system. It means you also have most the gear you need when ready to progress to SRT. |

Anchor Bridge System - Is that the thing with the green rope you sold the last one to the Chinese guy @ the trade show? So I could use a normal 1/2 hand ascender above my climbing hitch with the pantin? |
