I'm using a Sequioa harness if that's what you're after, but not the one with the seat. Love it. Forget I'm in it sometimes and drive home or to a mate's place with it still on it's so comfortable - and even though it doesn't have a seat, if you connect to your line using the bridge it's that comfortable to sit in you won't miss the extra baggage. I normally use the bridge for my climbing line and the D-rings on the sides for flipline when making cuts etc. Great for hanging gear off all nice and organised as well. Using all Petzl alloy biners, snaps etc as well most of the time in my SRT rig. No complaints at all.

Haha! Didn't know they'd called their new descender the RIG. If it's up to the same quality of other Petzl stuff I've used it'd be worth more than a look.

Actually I kinda like the look of that - might give it a look myself. I must admit that I find friction hitches etc less hassle and more flexible in usage. Mechanical adjusters of any sort generally give me the s##ts.

Im uising a petzl ascender and Grigri with foot loop in a SRT setup and a klemheist backup ahead of the ascender. I saw the Petzl rig ascender and liked the lock off feature and the abscence of the panic function.

The RIG looks pretty awesome, I might pick one up soon. I like coming down pretty fast, so I usually use a figure 8 so as not to burn up my friction cords as fast. It seems like Velocity goes thru a fig8 kinda slow tho, Blaze is much faster, so I'm going to try descending on a gri gri and see how that works, but it looks like it would be really fast with a RIG. Plus u can lock it off if u need to make a cut or two on the way down, like if u forget to make finish cuts or left stubs.

I got one of the rigs about three months ago. The action of the belay arm is a longer action than a gri gri which makes it easier to use when we were practising assited rop rescues. I thought the belay speed was only marginally easier to control than a gri gri. When you let it go it stops you real quick.

The biggest difference i noticed was you didnt have to loosen a biner to load the rig. With a gri gri you had to open the biner and remove it which mean you might drop it.

I have used it a great deal but im defintly happy with it

Tnanks for the feedback, I brought one a few months back and love it. The lock off feature is fantastic mid descent/ascent. I highly reccomend it plus it does allow you to decend fast. Great piece of kit. Got mine from hermit hut super deal for climbing stuff.
