Default Aerial Rescue

I was just viewing JayD's thread on "Four Days of Aerial Rescue" and was wondering what other people do for aerial rescue training. Does your company have a rescue plan in place? I work for a company with only three guys, and I'm the only one that climbs so rescue is something I think about a lot. I've never gone through any aerial rescue training, but do my best to read everything I can on the topic. Any advice any of out have? What all is in your rescue kits?

hi, i did my ariel rescue certificate at an agricultural colledge in the uk so not sure if qualifications are the same, but should be similar.

If you or someone else needs rescuing you can either do it on one rope or two.

I think the single rope method is easier, where you attach the injured person to your harness with a caribiner and then lower togather on one rope.

A handy thing to have is a small sharp knife in case you need to cut any ropes, and a small first aid kit,to slow any bleeding---you dont want blood all over you!

As always best to get proper training from qualified instructor-after all dont want 2 people to rescue.

When I can afford to, I'd like to take ArborMasters or S.T.A.R.R.s aerial rescue training, but till then I'm just trying to wrap my head around the topic and work out what types of techniques and gear I need to acquire along the way. TCIA has a lot of great articles on their website, but I'd really appriciate some first hand experiences. Plus, I think this is a very important topic that I really feel should be addressed more than it is.
