Default 2 tie in points

When cutting a spar down what is your guys opinion on proper tie in. right now i just clip the caribeaner to the line and sit on my friction hitch as well as my lanyard, a single rope technique i suppose.

So you have 2 attachment points, the lanyard plus the lifeline.

Sounds good to me.

I use basically the same technique except I replace the biner with a running bowline with a six or eight foot tail. I also capture the climbing rope below my Vt with a figure eight attached to my left leg strap delta link. The eight makes for a smooth descent to my next cut and the tail on the running bowline makes for an easy pull down of the climbing rope.

Yep, long tail, at least as long as you might want to descend in any one go, work well with easy retrieval.

If you slip a "friction reducer" tethered above your hitch like a F8 Revolver system it will run beautifully on single rope. The hitch will behave like it does on Dbrt instead of binding up.

I agree, replace the carabiner with a bowline and leave a long tail. By using the climbing line it makes for a quick exit if needed.
