In this setup you're using a screwgate biner it looks like...that trail has been trodden severely...need we go down it again? I hope not...since you're in the US and doing work for hire OSHA and ANSI apply...
Tests have shown that loading the small end of a biner with more than one rope reduces the breaking strength because the load is shifted towards the gate leg. Why not invert your setup?
