I agree with you whole heartedly, If we could hire a 18" Chipper for $100/per Hr we would go that way as well,but down here it's a lot more, The chipper boys would walk with all the cream,so our chipper be it a small one is indeed worth it's weight in gold, When we break it and we do once and a while it's like looseing your truck, Or popping your main saw in the trees, 200T, makes it very hard work,so I came to realise that all your essential tools form one working unit.IMO.
