Here is a copy of the email I sent to Logan City Council in March last year. Also since then I have numerously told them via phone of the problem.
Please note, the video link etc all works still today and you can view the video I shot back then.
Seems when advice is free it's not worth much. You must watch the video 1st.

There's a series of pics attached for you to see what happened. Also note the warnings in the email, I wonder how many tree loppers would have climbed that if it were a removal ... after all if you are insured and cheap that's all that matters doesn't it?
I put extra commas in email addresses to prevent spam if any scum bag bots are watching here. Quote:

Subject: Bunya pine at Winnetts Rd round-a-bout Shailer Park
Hi
I encourage you to watch this video regarding an extremely hazardous tree.
The video is 2.38mins long and 12.89MB in file size, in WMV streaming format so it will buffer. www.palmtreeservices.com.au/video/winnettsrd.wmv
Personally, it's within striking distance of the all roads and frankly I would be cutting that down ASAP! Also, the area is earmarked for future highway expansion so might possibly get the chop anyway, but I wouldn't be waiting too long if I were you guys.
Did you know that the big Bunya pine in Toptaste Barkery on Gympie road Kedron failed not long ago and fell across 4 lanes of traffic during the day, by miracle no-one was injured as the traffic lights down the road were red! Chances of that are incredible, usually you'll have a solid 4 lanes of traffic in the afternoon. That failure didn't look as bad as thisd tree for VTA.

PS: I would be insisting a tower be used for this removal due to the high risk of failure.
