They get dropped off in Alaska, the Outback, Deserts, Mountains, South American jungles, etc., and survive.
One guy mainly has his clothes and his knife.
The other has little more. Might strip a vehicle a bit if he strands himself like when he ran out of fuel in the desert in the last episode I watched. He was hurtin from heat in that one. Worse than he expected with heat headaches and dehydration.
Basically, he got by for a few days but the Kalihari Desert kicked his ass. Probably the most difficult situation he dealt with.
