Yummm Roller,
When I was shopping for a truck the guy asked me what I needed in a truck. Since I'm a strictly residential operation, my needs were of getting in tight places (less distance dragging brush), so I need a truck with a tight turning radius. He says "What size?" "I don't really care, as long as it has a tight turning radius. I back the chipper up a lot, and need to turn the truck around do U-turns. My last two trucks have caused me a lot of agony, and it's a major issue I need to correct."
He said, "You need a topover." which I wasn't certain of exactly what that was at the time, but you know what he showed me? He showed me your truck, an Isuzu.
It's not what I got, but intrigued me greatly. It may be my next truck. Rear frame is flat, rather than bowing up and over the axel like a pickup frame. I saw a lot of advantages in your truck, but they couldn't show me anything but a plain old box, nothing specialized that could be adapted to the Arborist, nothing that even had dump capabilities.
You've got me inspired again. I'll need to get another truck in the future, and like you, I want one that's gonna go into the future and serve the Arborist well.
Is the turning radius truly good ( I never actually test-drove one), and what do you wish you had on it that you don't at the moment? |
