I read Jerry's post about black ants eating a hole in his huge tree. Didn't like the way that sounded so I need a quick fix for my dilemma or maybe it's not. We have small black and red ants. They love our five poplar type trees (Will have to have you help me ID those later). Anyway, I can see where a few holes have been started and I have curtailed them away from them for now. But i notice that the bark is separating from the trees. As if the ants are eating behind the bark and leaving it nothing to hold to. Is this a good ant or a bad one?
