Default Moth Larvae that eat tree tissue

Here in Oregon, we have these pine pitch moth larvae, that seem to be most limited to our shore pines.

It's not a problem on a lot of the shore pine, but certain ones really get infested.

Seems I've seen them on some Scotch pines.

Saw a ponderosa pine near Portland that had similar larvae - just not sure if it was the same "breed" of bug.

This photo is clear, but I wish I had a video of it for seminars

Who else has this kind of critter damage to look out for.
