You live on the river, I wonder what that would be like? You have internet, maybe wireless or are you berthed somewhere with facilites?
Fruit trees are great, I miss the fruit trees here. People pay so much more attention to their trees when they're fruit trees.
Lots of good tips here and I'm sure with your enthusiasm and curiosity the trees will reward plenty. The easy part is water, if you have that it's most your troubles solved, we have drought here, very dry conditions and trees (some) are struggling.
Anyway, dont be shy, ask questions and feel at home.
