My husband and I just bought a house and were told that the tree in the front yard is a Spiral Willow. We were also told that these trees search for water. Therefore the are roots above the lawn. We were also told that they can and will ruin plumbing looking for water, and also crack foundations and driveways. My question is: Are these things true? Should we worry about this tree? And if so what is a really good tree to plant for future shade?
