Hi , I measured the with of the tree and is 6 feet around, I dont know what kind it is but it gets a bud that turns into a yellow flower before the leaves come out. I live in southeastern Pa. USA. The hole is 4ins wide by 7ins high. I put paper at the hole yesterday and today there are new shavings. I also can strick my hand up the hole about a foot and its moist decaying wood.
