If high speed were involved, and they *hadn't* been wearing a seatbelt (which was kind enough to snap their neck), they'd either be impaled on the steering column, or have their pretty little head pushed up through the windshield.
One could also argue that the seat belt may have been improperly adjusted, with the strap riding too high up around the neckline. When used right, they should only break ribs, not snap your neck.
But then again, airbags have been known to fug people up too, so shall we do away with them too?
