Re: Ekka's pics It would be more effective to have the specs for cleancutting before the excavator makes its presence felt. Once the roots are torn and fractured it is very hard to find sound timber to clean cut....hydrovac along the outermost line of the excavation then clean cut (if it retains sufficient root and soil volume for the tree)...then all excavation inside that line can continue as normal, you won't get the fractured roots.
Also I would most definately be applying Trichoderma in solution or better still in a water saving gel and sugar solution.
