Around Atlanta GA, USA, the pit burners have been in use for more than a decade. They create really hot fires and little smoke. Typical pits are 10ft. deep, 10ft. wide and sometimes as long as 150ft. Large engine driven fans force air through 3ft. diameter tubes as much as 300ft. away from the burn pit.
