ah dude! sounds like your a product of the latest fad. vt is a very good knot, but only under specific circumstances. rope diameters and turns and tresses and such determine the performance of the knot. if you gotta use your teeth to loosen a vt your doing something wrong. i use 10mm beeline (technora fibre) prussick with three turns and four tresses, always criss crossing the ends, on a 12mm samson rope.
gibbs are good but you cant loosen while loaded which is a pain in the arse. having said that i havent bothered to take it off my pole belt!
oh yeah and ekka, like that vid of the ascension methods. liked the look of the gibbs setup. too much gear for me but the idea is good. trunk walking is the only way to fly, gotta save energy anywhere you can. ekka looks like hes perfected energy saving techs
