Re: Gardens of Stone I saw that fig tree and house in the cliff, but didn't realise it was a doctor's house. We camped just near there on the fire trail on the northern slopes of Mt Airlie. The next day we walked up onto Airlie Turrett, which is on a ridge further south.
At the moment the Total Environment Centre is trying to include this area in a national park rather than a state recreation area. The main difference is that coal mining could be allowed in a SRA, possibly causing collapse of the clifflines. |
