There seems to be a greater issue here than the ability to generate a few KW of power. The trees do SO much more than cast shade. I hope the solar power geniuses remember that when their property is washed (flood waters) OR blown away in a dust storm, that THEY were responsible for the destruction of the trees.

Wind power generation would be more suitable, IMO. Absolutley NO ONE wants to live where the winds are blowing, why not utilize these areas for power production. Hey, who knows, if the wind quits blowing, we could bus some of the blowhard politicians, lawyers and people who praise conservation, while driving gas guzzling 4X4 SUVs, out and they could blow on the blades of the wind generators.

For those people who want to live in the FULL sunlight, MOVE TO THE DESERT, and leave the trees alone.
