I got Debi (
the wife) a zapper, so far I'm the only one she's used it on. Quite effective, she gave me a jolt in the thigh and it dropped me to the floor.
They have used the CS / pepper spray as a bear deterrent and it seems to work.
What are the laws in Australia concerning these non-lethal weapons?
