Well my metric conversion was faulty, but my 1/2 rope is only 60' long so I will be needing new rope anyway. My other rope is probably 7/16 as it works well in both the Pezel and the Kong, but it is short too. Not a problem right now as I am staying in the lower altitudes until I get thoroughly proficient with all the new gear I have.

What rope do you recommend, Lowes or Home Depot (I read here that they have cheaper prices).

Right, he did, and I understand the difference. But as a total rookie without direct adult supervision I'm going to try to cover my ass as best I can, and in many situations I'll want both belts and suspenders so to speak.
