If you value tree's lives over humans, you've gone too far. Why don't you just commit suicide at the base of a tree and give it some nutrients if you feel that way? |

YORKTOWN -A 35-year-old tree cutter died today from head injuries he sustained when his hand got caught in a rope tied to a falling tree and he was pulled head first into a nearby standing tree.
Yorktown Police said Manuel J. Villeda, a Mount Kisco resident, was hurt during the accident and died after he was transported to Hudson Valley Hospital.

Villeda was standing on the ground, keeping tension on a guide rope tied to the tree that was being taken down, police said. When the cut tree started to fall, Villeda apparently got his glove caught in the rope and the force of the tree's weight crashing down drove him into the second tree.
Police said he wasn't wearing any protective head gear and was unconscious and bleeding when they arrived at the Heights Drive home. The homeowner was there at the time.
Villeda worked for a tree care company that doesn't have a name, police said.

Maybe now some of those dumb groundies will understand why you dont wrap your hands in the rope.
Sorry some-one died, shame, but the solution is so simple it's
astounding.
Think about it, over here some publications and orgs are on some safety crusade ... never have I seen such a bunch of "volunteers" want to wind themselves up in so much red tape.
Tell me, do the electricians need to
1/ Educate the customer as to what is and isn't safe?
2/ Educate their own tradesmen as to what the dangers are?
Of course not, the answer is so simple, you can only do electrical work when you are qualified and licenced. That there is your and the publics safety.
But the tree industry is so full of geniuses who think that voluntary red tape strangulation will actually do something.
Pigs arse it will, coz home-owner Joe still gets a choice of $300 vs $3000.

And it's not illegal for $300 to operate either regardless of what some desk jockey may think.
